Camp is a full ten-week commitment. Missing time is difficult to accommodate, and must be approved in advance. Contact us today if you are concerned about potential schedule conflicts.
Daily hours vary depending on position, but most staff work approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. We also have staff meetings Tuesday evenings and two Friday night Sleepouts.
Salaries vary, depending upon position. The range for first year staff with no previous experience is generally between $4,200 – $5,500+ for the summer. Those with previous experience or filling area lead positions may earn more.
Our campers and staff go home at the end of each day. Staff are responsible for arranging their own summer housing; camp housing is not available. If you live within 30 minutes of any of our bus pick-up points (listed in our transportation section), you are close enough to work with us.
Most staff members are part of our camper transportation program and ride our buses to and from camp each day as a member of a bus staff team. Certain positions may require a commute directly to and from camp. We offer bus pick-up points in Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, West Hills, Calabasas, Agoura, Oak Park, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Simi Valley, and Moorpark.
Camp Kinneret does not provide housing for staff. Accordingly, international staff must arrange their own housing in order to work with us. Due to the cost of housing in our area, it is generally not feasible for staff to rent a room or apartment on a camp salary.
We would like to refer you to two agencies that help international applicants find camp jobs within the United States.
Contact either Camp Counselors USA or Camp America for information on their placement services.
